You heard it here first on SD: Trev Courtney has left the Come on Gang!, and in his place comes super-talented, songwriter and bassist, Rob Howell. Trev, long time friend and COG! co-founder, has ventured home to Ireland, leaving his remaining band-mates with strict instructions to fill his place. Mikey Morrison, COG!’s lead guitarist and backup vocalist, tells us this: "Just got an email from [Trev] saying how happy he is with Rob...they were friends anyway, so it's been a very natural and all-round pleasant turnaround!" Rob Howell seems to be a perfect choice to take Trev’s place. Rob's originally from Hastings, off of England's south coast. However, he firmly considers himself a Scot after moving to Edinburgh at a young age. Mikey actually played a couple shows w/ Rob’s high school band about a decade ago, but it wasn't until years later that they crossed paths again and became good friends.

The Come on Gang! has taken a few weeks to get their new band mate up to speed, and now they're back out in full force. They were supporting White Lies this past weekend and jumping into some larger projects, like getting another single recorded. Nothing can slow these folks! Welcome, Rob, and good luck to the Come on Gang!

Here's some of Rob's music!

A little while back, we got two cats. It was around the same time we bought a super-nice sofa for our living room. I was never seriously considering getting them declawed, but I just wanted to research the issue to see what the controversy was all about. After putzing around the interwebs for a few hours, the consensus, in my eyes, is that it's kinda barbaric. The declawing procedure is the equivalent of cutting off that first section of finger that houses your finger nail on your own hand. It can result in severe nerve damage and even paralysis.

Obviously, we didn't entertain getting our cats declawed. I did, however, find this super-cheeseball video that some guy named Dick Hunter made in his mother's living room. W/ a bouncy-ball lyric guide suitable for any karaoke party, it really opens your eyes. While these cats are never seen using their claws for destruction, they sure do love absolutely fucking destroying Mrs. Hunter's plants w/ their needle teeth.
