Joel Cox, Stephen Leach and Charlie Sheen make up this London based experimental crew. Right out of the gate they have a plethora of super-cool videos. We really don't know too much about these folks but we're keeping an eye on them.

Either these guys are super-deep or I just do not get what these lyrics mean. They have such enthusiasm in their voice, so I know it's not just nonsense, or is it? I'm sure it's over my head. Anywho, their tracks are fast-paced and full of table-finger-drumming-energy that, sometimes, you need to bring you out of a funk.

Y'all is Fantasy Island, yet another great thing to come out of Scotland! With kind of a thrash-rock, indie-alternative sound, YIFI is continuing to grow on me. Consider Yourself Swallowed is on the top of my playlist.

Coming from Edinburgh, Scotland, the Come On Gang! should not be missed! Still indie, I can't wait till they make it big so they'll launch a U.S. tour — a bit selfish, I know. Drummer and lead singer Sarah Tanat Jones is spot on. Songs are pop-ish, energetic, and creative. As a band, their vibe is very down-to-earth and humbled, always graciously thanking their fans for nice words and appearing awed by their newfound popularity.

Ahhhhhhh, and I thought I was the only one who liked the Blood Brothers' sound. I guess not, because the attention that Jaguar Love is getting for songs like Highways Of Gold and Jaguar Pirates is more than enough proof that the high-pitched vocals of Johnny Whitney have won over the indie-fan masses. Congealed from members of the Blood Brothers and Pretty Girls Make Graves, Jaguar Love is an acquired taste that goes down rough, but settles pleasantly in your colon.

London-based and super-talented, Cajun Dance Party has been on the scene for at least three years. And with four singles and one LP, called The Colourful Life, under their belts they show no signs of fizzling out. Every song has a unique depth to it.

The first single I heard was Amylase that, with it's energy, fast pace and involved, almost-vintage sound, got me way into them. The repetition and build of the lyrics "You're the catalyst that makes things faster. Amylase will dry up the plaster." makes you want to bust out into a super-cool interpretive dance, or maybe just sing along and tap your pockets.

Here's quite an acquired taste, Thinguma*jigSaw — an indie, singing saw-playing, self-coined, splatterfolk group out of Norway. I've yet to get their album (awakeinwhitechapel), but these songs definitely will get you acclimated to this off-kilter, slightly creepy genre.

Friday the 13th. What is it about this unlucky, slightly evil day that makes everything a bit off? Plans are changed, courses are replotted, people around you seem preoccupied and for some reason you're unable to regulate your core body temperature... Maybe it's just me. Yeah, it's probably just me.

Anywho, today I crawled around the Internets looking for some local bands worth a listen. I came across Thrushes. Their reverbery, slow-paced, drone-rock sounds just felt like a perfect fit today.

Popup, another gem out of Glasgow! Their album, A Time & A Place, currently can be downloaded for free (Residents of North America only) on their myspace page. W/ a vast spectrum of tempo and super-cool accents, this is a pretty fun group to listen to.

Glasgow has absolutely no shortage of raw talent being churned out these days. Dananananaykroyd is one of those talents. JBJ, Duncan, Laura, Paul, David and Calum make up this post-punk, garage-pop, self described fight-pop extravaganza. Their debut LP, Hey Everyone, was just released early April and is jam packed w/ super-tracks. Check out their video for Pink Sabbath. And they've got two drummers, how cool is that?
